Stand-alone Coot for 10.11
From OS X Scientific Computing
Coot for 10.11 ONLY
Packages newer than 0.8.2 stable will NOT work on 10.9 or earlier.
If you need a version for 10.6 - 10.8, please go to my page entitled Stand-alone Coot for 10.6
Please note that the 0.8.3-pre release series are built with python, but are no longer built with scheme/guile, since this is causing a seg fault that none of us has managed to figure out how to avoid. Hopefully this will not cause too much hardship, since hardly anyone knows how to program with scheme.
Be sure to install the latest stable X11 from Xquartz.org (2.7.9 as of May 05, 2016).
I'm trying an automated build procedure. This is experimental, but hopefully it will work reasonably well. The idea is every day there is a new svn revision, it will be automatically detected, downloaded, and compiled, and then wrapped up into an Apple installer package for you to download at your convenience.
These are now packaged as standard Apple install packages only. Download the zip file and click on it to uncompress it, and then just follow the installer.
Everything will be installed in /Library/Coot, except for a executable shell script called "coot" that will be installed in /usr/local/bin/coot. Install the package, and then run it by issuing the command
If you move it from /Library/Coot, you will break it.
