Quick Start

Easy Option

Register and Log In

Go to the Apple's Developer Download Page and register for access if you haven't, and log in if you have.

For 10.7.X and above: Download the "Command-Line Tools"

You no longer have to install the whole Xcode app to get the required command-line tools. (I somehow missed this). You should see something akin to the browser screen shot below. Download and install it.

If you install the whole of Xcode, after installation, you may have to accept the license with the following command:

sudo xcode-select --install

before you are able to use the command-line tools.

For 10.6.X: Download "Xcode 3.X"

You have to install the whole Xcode app to get the required command-line tools. You should see something akin to the browser screen shot below. Download and install it.
